Journey... Happy New Year 2010!

Usage: Journey, Tour, Excursion, Pilgrimage. The word journey suggests the idea of a somewhat prolonged traveling for a specific object, leading a person to pass directly from one point to another. In a tour, we take a roundabout course from place to place, more commonly for pleasure, though sometimes on business. An excursion is usually a brief tour or trip for pleasure, health, etc. In a pilgrimage we travel to a place hallowed by our religions affections, or by some train of sacred or tender associations. A journey on important business; the tour of Europe; an excursion to the lakes; a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. [1913 Webster]

My word for 2010 is Journey.  It would seem that Last year would have been my  "journey' . ,,,considering I traveled  back and forth across the continent.  The word of the year always comes to me in a  very unusual way, and i  'know' that it is the right one.  I had to replace my cell phone and the upgrade didn't have my fave ringtone (which I got last year...A French verson Tropicale, perfect for my move to Florida))  so, i'm  going through ring tones and I found one i loved called Journeys, a very gypsy sounding tune.  I am still on a Journey , yes, I am .  This past year has been an incredible one, filled with adventure, disappointments, joy, awakening, love, peace, and the realization that my journey isn't over!   I love it when this happens..oh yeah!   Last year I traveled  across the USA twice.  It was a gift to see all the beauty, vastness, and amazing life that is America , and I don't mean that in a Patriotic sense.  The wide open spaces... the tiny villages,...people  being who they truly are.  That's what i saw.  I'm not finished.  My plan was to drive my old VW Bus across and see everything...t ocamp out with my dog t otake it easy. I didn't get to do that..so  my journey will continue.   May all of you manifest your word in the coming year.   L'chaim!!!!
