Happy New Year !!

Camellia time is starting..! Soon these amazing flowers will be bursting forth in all their glory all over the Low Country.  I hope you all had a great Christmas and will be having a fabulous New Year. I will be staying on Folly Beach with my sweetie! YAY!  Never thought I'd hear my self say that. I still can't believe I found my soulmate at this age.  So...it is never too late! Love you all and once again Happy New Year!

Long time..no post!   It as been ccccold in these here parts. In the 20's!  Just checking in to say hello and hope you are all having a great  December. Going to  a Christmas Party tonight, the first of the season..woo hoo!

December..

whoa..is it truly December?!  I don't do Christmas anymore. so just plowing through this month is arduous. I gave away ALL my Christmas decorations.

At first   I was going hate every day this month, but then someone reminded me to take my own advice about creating your own reality. Now I plan to do at least one fun thing each December day. Yesterday I had a great breakfast with my honey...then lunch with my best friends. Today..I am actually going to make some cards! ...okay one day down and 30 to go..LOL

2 years ago..I was climbing to the top of Multnomah Falls, OR. My legs ached for days..LOL. It was worth every step. Spot walked it too. The path curves and twists ..up , up  up through beautiful trails ..green and mossy, filled with ferns and lichens.

All is well

Ben came home from the hospital yesterday.  It is going t otake a while for his foot to heal ...but he is much better!  Thank you all!Yes he had IV antibiotics ..his foot is looking awful after the doctor did his work..ewwwwww. Infections are bad. He didnt have to have surgery but they did a lot of diigging and pulling and scraping. AIeeeee. They think it may have started because his cat was scratching and biting that same foot  a few days before!!!!!

The campout was fun. Lots of good friends and food. it has been a hectic week. Ben is in the hospital with a very serious staph infection in his foot..complications of diabetes. I just can't believe it.Please send healing vibes))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Crazy....

It is chilly around these parts this morning! I have not been creative lately and my head is still in the clouds,LOL. We are going camping this weekend with my VW bus club, yay. It is our Thanksgiving Misgivings annual campout.  It is a crazy time with this tribe, believe me. This time I get to spend it with my honey,,haha. I wish you could all meet him We are totally alike in our thinking. He he has a bus And a gypsy camper!  YES.

Errant gypsy

This gypsy girl has been absent with good reason....I found my soulmate. I did. I really did.  It is fairy tale, star struck love, real and true.We both feel the exact same way about each other. He is the sweetest, most kind, loving adorable, cute  guy ..and so much more.   Now I know why I ended up back here. I know you want to know more and I will post about it all as soon as I can put it into words.

Once again I am Pet sitting on the Beach...so nice to have friends who live there It will be a full moon tomorrow toowhich makes it all the better. Stocked up on my wine supply and yummy food  so I ain't goin' nowhere!

Yay..I am now truly connected to the internet...YeeHAW!

The Alchemist

I read The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho this weekend.  This is the best book I have ever read. It resonated with  my soul. It is a must read.... READ READ read ..you have to. I implore you all..! It is about following your heart, written as a fable . It felt as though I were somehow reading my own life.  The weekend was gorgeous, I took Spot, a picnic and the book to the park. We stayed all day in a secluded spot by the lake.  It was as wonderful as a day can get.  The sun, the wind, the water , the earth were all there as I realized how much nature means to me. I was the sun...wind....earth...water. What a feeling!

It was s o great to see friends I have not seen in years! Here are a few of us looking at photos from 1985!  WE laughed so hard. (that's me with my granny glasses on) We drank a lot of vino (here's to you  lisa priti! ) As a matter of fact we partied a lil too much, because the cops came and made us be quiet!  Ha ha...we still got it...!

Just popping in to say hi...and hope you are all planning a beautiful weekend!  It is still hot as hell here even though there are signs of Fall., like pumpkins, mums and Halloween stuff.  Last night I hung out with my VW buddies and listened to some great folk music.  I am still manifesting for a camera, a VW bus and abundance!  LOL!

Okay.  It is very hard living without a camera!  Ack! am on the lookout for any kind in the meantime. Also , I am still having internet issues, so I am not online too much right now.  Yesterday , I had the urge out of nowhere..t o make dolls, so I am!  haha. Two spirit dolls as well as  a gypsy doll I started months ago. Will use my cell phone to take a picture later when they are finished.

Out in the Country

On a petsitting job ..wayyyyy out in the Carolina country side.,..On Johns Island.  It is absolutely serene and beautiful.  Of course, I ride my bike for miles passed incredibly fantastic views! I was able to bring Spot along and he is loving all the play and running around with 2 Labs on 3 acres of land. There's a huge swimming pond with a fountain in the middle..I feed the catfish who live there. It is like a retreat. I do have to drive to a coffee shop t o get internet access. I am going to miss it when I leave on Saturday...:(.... I am reading a fantastic book, :How To Think Like Leonardo Da Vinci"  I highly recommend it. Especially if you are an artist of ANY persuasion..you will love this book.  Tonight I'm going to go to a local pub and listen to some great bluegrass from The Butterbeans!  ...BTW: my camera bit the dust after 4 faithful years of taking pictures of my life.  Now I am on the search for a new . mo' better one!  Peace and Love and Happy Weekend!

I have been a slacko blogger lately.I spend my time on Facebook instead!..LOL. There isn't much to tell..I have been working, Not doing any art,

busy manifesting a new VW bus and a new cottage on the beach ! Other than that it has been hot and humid..too hot to go biking or do much of  anything. I am sewing up some table runners and pillows for a wedding. Gee..is this the most boring post ever??~ I am going to try to keep up with blogging ...

Folly Beach

This weekend staying on Folly again. Petsitting for my friends while they are away in Colorado. It is unGodly hot , even here on the ocean front.I sat on the beach for about an hour...reading Hemingway short stories, drank my Corona and then jumped in the ocean.  After that I took a long nap.  Then i went to a party down the street. OMG the food. Let me just say that 2 attendees are chefs..one a pastry chef. Need I say more" OKay I will.  REd Velvet CHEESE cake. Key Lime cheese cake. German chocolate brownies...top of the line..spot on ..yes.

Wine Glass Wednesday

This photo is from my favorite coffee and wine bar in Bonita Springs, Florida...C_Grape.The owners, Drew and Maiwere so nice. They always had something going on  and donated the party money to charities.  I really miss them and living in Florida, but Charleston is good  too..and it is my home!

Whoaaa. what?? It's Wine glass Wednseday once again!

this evening's wine is a  tree free chardonnay from Yellow Tail. no..not saving trees...an UN-oaked Chardonnay!  It is very light and crisp. My wine glass is one of  2... I found at a thrift store last year. They are so beautiful..They are sort of burgandy color with silvery patterns(you can't see from the pic). tonight's repast is couscous with pita and hummus. Couscous has lots of parsley..lemon, EVOO,  feta , garbanzo beans,  green onions and ripe olives and tomatoes! YUM!

WINE Glass Wednesday...

Hey Lisa (Priti studio)..I joined in on the Wine glassWednesday!  The wine says it all...  My wine glass..which I love..is part of a set I found at a discount store  in Florida..LOVE them..they are from  Kiss That Frog....go check it out , full of Frenchie goodness! Served up with  fresh yellow tomato, smoked mozzerella ..home grown basil and artisan roasted garlic bread...

Today's adventure....

I hopped on the bike and explored more of the neighborhood. Antiques Mall with some vintage clothes!this groovy 50's lounge dress fit me perfectly..sigh*** $58 which is actually a great priceBlueberries in the yard...Say, can I have some of your purple berries...

Okay..now I really must find a way to support myself. I cannot live on purple berries..maybe only 6 or 7 weeks.

New digs....

I have been on Folly Beach ,SC for the past few weeks.

the lighthouse in the back ground is the Morris Island Lighthouse. I just moved off the beach and on to James Island..where this gypsy is setting up camp for a whileuntil the next adventure.I moved from Florida, of course, and came back to Charleston to get 'grounded' again. Traveling around is great, but then one has to regroup..ha ha. i am back on track and will be blogging regularly. Yesterday I rode my bike  in the neighborhood to discover what is around.  Ilive very close to the county park .It is beautiful! ....also ride to Earth  Fare which makes me very happy and  to Folly Beach, but that takes some doing as there are only partial bike paths...it can be done tho!  I have not created any art lately.Spot is loving it all..He has a huge back yard.but this is what he loves best...his grass nest..Haha

I am still alive...heh heh.  I have my shiny new laptop now! All I need next is  a doohicky to upload photos. so..my gypsy life has taken me back  to. South Carolina for a bit...Folly Beachhttp://www.cityoffollybeach.com/ my old stomping grounds from the 80s.It is an incredible community and I have a lot of dear friends in the area.It is about 25 minutes from Charleston.   On the way up here from Florida I stopped and camped with Spot at the most beautiful campground in St Augustine! I will be a better blogger from now on and  I do have some pictures.to post..  Peace and love! 

As soon as I get my new laptop. I'll post more . Some unexpected things happened and my life has changed again! All is good, just not sure where I'll be!

I have had a LOT of things going on.Whew.

Biking down a gorgeous tree canopied trail..... Unfortunately it is already getting too hot and humid to go on  any more long  bike rides . Trust me,  the sun is intense in SW Florida.   I really miss  those  rides! I can go really early in the morning ,  but by 9 or 10 it is blazing.  This week my main focus is buying a cheapo gypsy caravan.  I have to have one by next Saturday.  I saw this enormous flower on a vine.  At first I thought it was a piece of cloth!

BELOW...is a video with Sarah Palin GLEEFULLY and HAPPILY exclaiming  "Drill, Baby, Drill" in her speech on offshore drilling  off the coast of Florida.  It makes me sick.   I can't stand her. She is a wolf killing, oil drilling , awful person!  Nature means everything to me..I would think that as a woman and mother she would not be prone to support these things!

I did this sketch at the Cocohatchee Preserve...en plein air.(while i was having my morning coffee from Dunkin donuts..hahah)  I am not a 'drawing kind of gal" .   After buying  Danny Gregory's book Every Day Matters to try and improve  I finally gave it away...... it drove me crazy to try to draw every seed on a bagel..haha believe me, you won't see many sketches from moi.  I have been doodling with my extra fine point sharpie quite a lot in my journal..Above..   And these 3 panels below are a paint and pass  I am doing with 8 friends!  It is really cool. Each person paints a background and it gets sent to the next one in line to add something!  I added the turtle on one.....  THe Palm Trees.... and the green shore/bank   It is cool to see what each person adds!

Full moon!

The moon is gorgeous right now!   I know I have been really slack in my postings as of late.   Also slack in my art...and also slack in getting out some swaps!  Just call me Mz. Slacker .  The weather  is so nice right now I cannot stay indoors.  Soon it will be too hot to be out for very long., so I must get in all the outside activity  possible ..haha.  Summer time is caliente! I will post some doodles and dweedles  tomorrow.  Go  Run out and Howl at the moon now>>>>>Oooo00OOOooo  !

I had a great Birthday yesterday...

Thank you all for the sweet BD wishes! Last night I had a giant slice of chocolate rasberry cake and a glass of vino.  Look at the wine lable  !!! Love it !

Woo hooo! It's my birthday! I love my birthday..I used to have a Spring Fling birthday party every year. This was taken 3 years ago at my house. This time of year in Charleston is spectacular ..so it was always fun to start  Spring with a partay with all my friends. Looking at this photo...I see all the 'stuff' I got rid of when I left for the West Coast. I had so much junk it was unreal..it took me months to go through it all and purge  myself of piles of  this and that.  I don't miss any of it except my chandeliers and garden.  My lifestyle has changed...I've paired down to just a few things. ..now that I lead the gypsy life. I have to say I am a lot happier with a lighter load. It was overwhelming me to have so much stuff.  I was beginning to feel like one of those hoarder types..haha.  Happy Spring everyone!!!!

Mangroves...

One of the main reasons I love to ride my bike everywhere is to discover all the secret places that one would miss if driving a car!Actually this is in a gated community that you can only get in by bike anyway.  There are beautiful trails for miles.A long wooden pier meanders through the Mangroves and it is so peaceful and serene. At the end of the pier..this is the view...

Rarely do I ever see another person...but I saw dolphins chasing their dinner! no matter how crappy things might be sometimes...this is bliss.

I painted a piece of cardboard ,then folded it in half...it is going to be a cover for a journal I'm making out of watercolor paper and some other papers I have lying around. I think the flamingo is from a card .. an Anahata Katka card...
