The children wanted to make rag dolls with button eyes after watching Coraline (creepy movie ,if ya ask me!) So..I found a free online pattern
HERE { go to free ragdoll pattern } and hand sewed these ....but the muslin frayed really bad so I couldn't turn them inside out. Actually , I like them better this way.

I need pinking shears ..that would help. I did the sewing ,but the kiddos picked out the eyes (ewww, that didn't sound good).......etc.
I haven't seen the movie but your dolls remind me of the ads I saw for it. I like the frayed edges....they just add to that look. Very cool project!
ReplyDeleteEveryone is sewing lately.
I guess I'll have to jump in and do something too.
love the dollies..kiddos did a good job of picking creepy eyes...
ReplyDeleteThey turned out great! I didn't see the movie, but I read the book - it is kinda creepy (my grandgirls loved it though - they're starting into liking the 'spooky fun,' stage. I think the frayed edges add to the whole Coraline-like image. Looks like you're having lots of fun with those kiddos.
ReplyDeleteCute odd sized eyes and a bit frazzled around the edges...I can relate!
ReplyDelete:-)
Those are so cute!! Should be in a magazine,
ReplyDeleteor showcased on One Pretty Thing Website.
Thanks for the movie review.
God Bless You and Yours!!!
How cute are these. I like the frayed edges and the eyes, adds to their guesomeness..(there's a word for you!)

Hi Pam,
ReplyDeleteI saw your comment over at Fifi's and I thought I'd come over and see what you've been up to. I have been wondering what happened to you, I knew it would be something so good. The last I remember, you had packed up your gorgeous VW and were moving. Hope life has treated you well with much happiness since then. I always enjoyed checking in at your blog and your wonderful gypsy spirit. Off to see what you've been up to in past posts.
Here's to Claude Hooper Bukawski (hoping that refreshes the memory ;)

Hi Pam,
ReplyDeleteLove the dolls! I'm still around, just very busy as I just purchased a condo that needs a LOT of work. Unfortunately, it has kept me away from the computer and my blog. I should be done most of the renovations by next week, so I will be posting pictures soon!
