Caliente..hot hot HOT!
This blazing sun tells the story.. (sweat) ...temps in the triple digits. So much for that Autumn coolness last week. Uh, and I thought it was hot in South Carolina. NO pumpkins or falling leaves in the sub Tropics. It is all good though....because I would not trade it for cold wintry, nasty, gloomy weather ever again.
A couple of pages in my Art journal...kinda silly and random.
I created this Dancer from pulling an image from an oil pastel background. Love it! Visit Janet and Mystele to see more of this type of art.

Wow....she's gorgeous! Isn't it just amazing to look at a background and all at once something appears to you! I love painting that way.
ReplyDeleteI like your journal pages, too.
Stay cool, girl!!
Well it`s no wonder it`s so cold over here, you have all the heat over there!!!! lol I don`t blame you for prefering the heat to cold, though:-) Love your artwork, I always admire people who know to create art like that. Hope you`re having a wonderful weekend my friend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh, I love using oil pastels.... they are so much fun for me to work with! I love how they flow and the colors blend so easily!
ReplyDeleteHope you are good.... biking to the beach sounds just wonderful... wish I could be that close!
TTFN,

A stunning sketch book!
ReplyDeleteHi Pam,
ReplyDeleteDia de los Muertas? I have always been very drawn to that and would love to go some time to see that authentic holiday. I watched a special on Fabulous Festivals and it was great hearing the different families speak of the sacred day. Can't wait to hear all about your swap. I really like the picture in your art journal with the house and the lovely doggies in the sky, looks very comforting and the pink flamingo just finishes it off to perfection - gotta have one of those birds! Have a great rest of your weekend, a huge storm's on it's way here Tuesday.

I love these images you're finding! And that top one is cool too - it reminds me of SARK.
ReplyDeleteIt got hot here again - boo. But then I don't like the cold either - could I have a perfect 70 degrees? lol Stay cool!
Now I understand. You pull the figure from the paint. Great art!!! And it appears that you are a fellow greyhound rescuer?
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be doing really good with pulling out objects. I remember when Mystele started doing that, she so got into that. I've done that before and I'm getting tempted to start that again. By the way, it is almost Dia de Los Muerto and Stephanie is hosting an El Dia. If you click on the link on my sidebar that says Dia de Bloglandia it will take you to her blog. It was a great event last year. So many people posted their "ofrendas." I will be posting mine on the 1st. Please feel free to come visit. Have a great Sunday and keep up the great painting.
