Going on a spiritual trip....

I am leaving tomorrow to the Hudson Valley, NY for a weekend seminar to see Elizabeth Lesser who co founded the Omega Institute. I read her books Broken Open and The Seeker's Guide. I highly recommend them. On my sidebar is a video of the beautiful campus! While there I am also going to make a side trip to Woodstock! Peace ! The Summer of Love 40 years ago. Wow. Will take pics and see you on Monday! ....Best-selling author Elizabeth Lesser is our guide for this weekend workshop where we navigate our way through the “four landscapes of the spiritual journey” using meditation and prayer from a variety of traditions, musical medicine, writing, humor, conversation, and readings. She is joined by Nance Pettit and David Wilcox, teachers and fellow explorers who bring expertise in each of the four landscapes: the Landscape of the Mind, the Landscape of the Heart, the Landscape of the Body, and the Landscape of the Soul.

Come, come, whoever you are.
Wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving.
It doesn’t matter.
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
Come, even if you have broken your vow a hundred times.
Come, yet again, come, come.
–Rumi

Spirituality is the instinct and the quest for meaning, purpose, and inner peace. It is the sense that each day is a sacred adventure where even our pain and confusion can lead us to what Joseph Campbell called “the rapture of being alive.”

The spiritual adventure does not have to take place in a foreign land or a house of worship. Rather, it is an inner journey, a shift of perspective, a change of attitude. On this adventure we need a special kind of guidance, one that addresses the fullness of our body, mind, heart, and soul. And we need traveling companions. This workshop provides a watering hole where seekers can gather together to put down their burdens, gain direction, and rest up for the next phase of the journey. All seekers are invited: seasoned practitioners, bare beginners, those of great faith and those with little.
