If I were a month, I'd be April.
If I were a day, I’d be Sunday.
If I were a time of day, I’d be late afternoon
If I were a font, I’d be curly .
If I were a sea animal, Mermaid
If I were a direction, I’d be SOUTH.
If I were a piece of furniture, I'd be an old vintage gypsy trunk..
If I were a liquid, I’d be Pinot Grigio.
If I were a gemstone, I'd be a ruby.
If I were a tree, I’d be a Foxtail Palm.
If I were a tool, I’d be a Swiss Army Knife.
If I were a flower, I’d be a rambling rose climbing ..climbing.
If I were an element of weather, I'd be sunshine.
If I were a musical instrument, I’d be a Saxophone.

If I were a city, I’d be Paris.
If I were a door, I’d be wide open.
If I were a pair of shoes, I’d be flipflops.
If I were a poem, I’d have to say, even tho cliche....
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Robert Frost
Love the Frost poem (of course). And Belgian chocolate, raspberries and hawks - so much delight in your list! Happy Easter, Pam. xoxox
ReplyDeleteI love the Frost poem too. I have my "If I were a..." ready to post too. I believe Gemma had it yesterday. I like all your thoughts especially a VW camper in mint condition. :D Of course you would, then you can travel without worry.:D Happy Easter weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love your answers...I truly think this exercise tells alot about a person. It's more of an insight than just a blog post. I can you see you as a VW Camper pulling up to the Grand Canyon morphing in to the hawk that soars above it. Then out of nowhere a hawk lands below the Eiffel Tower and there sits an old gyspy trunk that you emerge from....ready to see the sights, drink wine in cafes eating belgian chocolates, on an April Sunday in the late afternoon! XOXOXOXO
ReplyDeleteLove it all!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Easter.
Bright blessings,
Kathy
PS...may I use this, "if I were..."
